What if Superman landed in Ukraine, back when it was under communist rule? And what if he were really clever, the way he never really struck me as being in his usual stories?
A premise that promised to be awesome, but a lot of things were very much simplified - for example, Superman and Lex Luthor are capable of 'sorting out' economies and making the whole world prosperous and happy at the drop of a hat. No details, nothing - they just take care of things, so that the story can simply be about America vs. Russia.
And despite his amazing cleverness, Superman never manages to realize that brainwashing people is bad.
An interesting idea, but somehow I feel it failed to live up to its potential and really explore the ideas it toyed with.
