Outside Your Window: A First Book of Nature by Nicola Davies

3.0

There are a couple of standout poems in here, but overall, I found the content lackluster and extremely basic. It sounds more like it was written by a scientist explaining things to a very small child, than by a poet. However, the three stars are very much in reference to the illustrations, which are honestly some of my favorites in a long time. They are dynamic, textural, and vigorous, and really walk the like between the loose, graphic style kids seem to like and a more lyrical pictures of days gone by. Look at the pictures, but don't bother with the text.
