What We Don't Talk About When We Talk About Fat by Aubrey Gordon

4.0

I was so excited to read this one because I love Aubrey Gordon’s voice on her podcast, and it didn’t disappoint. She’s honest—and uber-informed—about what it’s like living in a fat body. Throughout her text, Gordon infuses enough evidence to achieve a solidly authoritative perspective while including enough narrative to keep it engaging (and, at times, eye-opening even for a small fat person like myself). I recommend this book for fat people and allies alike. It helped provide a foundation for my own journey toward body acceptance.

There were a few times when anecdotes were repeated, or a word was overused (see: thwarted in the tv chapter). Another copy-editing pass would’ve made this one a 5 star book.
