The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend's Sister by Meghan Quinn
2.0
I was going to give this book three stars. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't terrible. Just an okay read, even if it had too many sexual thoughts for a book that isn't erotica. But then the third act conflict happened (mind you, in the last 10% of the book) and it was the dumbest thing. I think the author wrote herself on a corner with the lack of actual problems that could have been thrown at them and went with the only thing she could think of. And it sucked.
I picked up this book because its whole thing was that the ML was chasing the FL and, for the most part, I enjoyed it. But in the end, after their fight, he was still kind of chasing her, and I just wanted to slap some sense and self-respect into him. Sure, it is amazing when a LI fights for the relationship, but he wasn't the one that should have been fighting (even more because the FL, the one that was in the wrong, didn't do anything more than saying sorry).
Besides that, not much to add. The book had a "not like other girls" thing going on, which was annoying, but not terrible. It was also very sexual, with over four sex scenes back-to-back, which was tiring. The characters were okay. The prose was nothing to write home about.
All in all, it was a romance book. Not the worst thing I've read in my life, but there are better books out there for all the tropes in the book, so I'd suggest you to check them out instead.
