The Storm Runner by J.C. Cervantes
3.0
Since this is a Rick Riordan Presents book, I feel obliged to compare it to his books. Unfortunately, while there is cool mythology stuff here, The Storm Runner doesn't stack up to his content.
Quick list of nitpicks/things I noticed off the top of my head:
-Zane follows a girl because she's the most beautiful person he's ever seen! ...Really. Surely he could've had a better reason than that.
-There are a lot fewer pop culture references than what you'd find in, say, one of the Heroes of Olympus books. That's a plus, since too many of those gets annoying.
-The writing is fine, but not amazing. The voice for the main protagonist seems pretty accurate, but in general the book wasn't as chuckle-worthy as one of Riordan's things.
