“Take care, Cyrus," she chided him. "If you keep laughing like that, I'm liable to think you have a heart."
"Oh, you needn't worry," he said, his smile fading. "I most certainly don't."
The nosta went cold.”
That was painful...
I absolutely adore Cyrus. He is a mystery. Alizeh probably shouldn't trust him because of Iblees and all. But he is so cool. Not the boring kind like Kamran. And for some reason I love it when Cyrus gets angry. I love it when he and Alizeh fight. Its so refreshing. And that glass stairs scene? I sooo loved the part where Alizeh changed from being angry and desperate to acting like a child afraid.
And I absolutely hate Kamran. He is so mean and such a killjoy. If Alizeh sorts things out with him, imma commit suicide. He does not deserve her forgiveness. Nor Hazan's. The thing I hate most about Kamran is that he doesn't take a moment to assume the worst of someone. grieving or no, I don't care. I don't know if I should call him soft or heartless. Kamran easily trusts and then happily declares them a traitor without a shred of evidence after any small incident. Oh, wait, he was presented with evidence for Alizeh's innocence. But no, THAT is when he will remember that he is too soft. I swear the guy sounds like a child.
The last few chapter of Alizeh's POV were so painful. I wanted to go murder Iblees myself just so that Cyrus doesn't have to go through all that pain.
"But will you promise me one thing, Angel? When you decide to kill me, will you tell me how you intend to do it?"
"Cyrus-"
"Enough, I beg you," He shook his head, "I am only a man, Alizeh, I can only withstand so much torture in one day. Please." his voice quivered, "Leave me. Leave me to this God's forsaken life."
Why, Iblees, why?
