Dominic and his three children live on a remote island and are charged with maintaining a seed bank that will preserve biodiversity in the case of rampant natural disasters. When a woman washes up on the island's shores in the middle of a storm, they have to figure out what her motive is for coming even close to the island. Told from multiple perspectives, it examines the effects of isolation, climate change and impending natural disaster. It also asks: should we bring children into a dying world? Part mystery, part literary fiction, part essay on biodiversity.
