Good Bones but fell flat
The story has good bones and opens with a scene that draws you in as the reader but grows stagnant from there. It feels like scenes are being repeated without much detail or growth.
Leah learns she is a witch and must learn how to grow her powers in order to stop a great evil but as she learns more about being a witch there not much story happening or excitement. When she confronts her mom on pivotal issues it falls flat. Even with the final battle , it happened and that’s it. No energy or emotion behind the scenes.
With a bit flushing out and more emotion I think this has the potential to be a very powerful story.
