“After twenty-two years of adventuring, Viv had reached her limit of blood and mud and bullshit. An orc’s life was strength and violence and a sudden, sharp end—but she’d be damned if she’d let hers finish that way.
It was time for something new.”
I absolutely loved this story! This book is so unbelievably cute and incredibly heartwarming. High fantasy and low stakes. A little cozy slice of life. Most of the books I read -according to Storygraph- are dark, tense ,and mysterious so this was the most perfect palate cleanser. Full of all the squishy, squirmy, warm and fuzzy, happy feels.
From the start I was completely rooting for Viv. Not only to have her coffee shop dream come true but to find some peace and to be able to make something new for herself.
I love a good found family trope and the one is this story is just perfection. I fell in love with every single character. Can I have a dire cat guardian please???
I really wish I could travel to Thune and sit in Viv’s coffee shop, listen to Pendry play lute, sip a latte and nibble a croissant or one of those cinnamon rolls, because they sounded so f*ing fantastic. I could literally smells Thimble’s creations wafting off the pages. I found my mouth watering and my stomach grumbling on more than one occasion while enjoying this story.
Love. Love. Love.
I put this one off for far too long, Couldn’t tell you why. But if you haven’t read this book yet, this is your sign.
