This book is nearly 47 hours long. According to Libby, I spend 1 day and 19 hours listening.
I enjoyed this story. It was well written, full of interesting characters, and had a complex plot. There were a few spots where the pacing lagged and I was bored. There were a few other spots when a big reveal was being drawn out but the reader already knew what was going on and it was just annoyingly too verbose. There’s a bit of grossness that is to be expected in a book written in 1844-1846, but it does just barely pass the Bechdel test with some minor characters. So bravo I guess.
Glad I finally read this one.
