From Air by Jewel E. Ann

I’ve been in my uniformed man era as my bestie likes to say. This book fit that perfectly! We meet Jaymes (Virgo) and Calvin (Capricorn). Jaymes, who also goes by Jamie, is a travel nurse and Calvin is a smoke jumper. Calvin is super closed off and doesn’t talk about his past with anyone. Jaime is due to start a new job and moves in with Will, Maren and you guessed it Calvin. They tell her to keep her distance from Calvin and also add that there is a no sex with the roommates rule that they take very serious in that household. They also tell her that if she wants to she can try and “fix” Calvin but Calvin has no idea he’s even broken. The banter in this book is 10/10. The beginning of the book had me laughing so hard but then it took a more serious turn and I love that, too. Both characters have a sad past and you learn about that throughout the book. There is also a little mystery element to the story. I was so worried when the author had them get together too soon that they would lose that banter and I’m happy to report that didn’t happen. They stayed the exact same but obviously formed feelings. I loved every single character in this book! You know when the connection is so good that you get butterflies and that aching in your chest. Jewel E. Ann has such a way with her writing and character building that just pulls at your heartstrings until the very end. I’ll be continuing with this series in the near future!

“Pregnant pause” was mentioned TWICE 😡 if you’ve read my reviews in the past you know that’s one of the few phrases that just gets under my skin. Like why authors…whhhhyyyyyy!!!!
