3.0

From a jagged, slow start came three haunting and poignant plotlines of narrators and a country torn and traumatised.

But I could not make myself like Henryk, and I absolutely cannot recommend this book to anyone without warning them of its marked horrors, sending them in unprepared as I was. The regular book description (outside of The StoryGraph) lacks some very necessary warnings that neither spoil nor detract from the story, of extremely graphic sexual assault, violence and killing, including of children, that could save someone faint of heart from a real shock, and which are not implied by the regular themes or expectations of a Holocaust novel.

‘The Rabbit Girls’ is not a book for the sensitive.
