I really liked the premise. I really loved the setting. The writing is super funny and clever. I laughed out loud at silly metaphors such as “like a bird doing push ups”.

The word “oubliette” came up so many times and I had to google the meaning every time because it threw me every time.

The characters felt a little flat and the ending was the least powerful part, but I will def be reading more Sarah Gailey. I think it was excellent storytelling.

TW: death, cancer, body horror
