Touch & Go by Lisa Gardner
3.0
Touch & Go is a thriller without a lot of gratuitous violence, which I appreciated. When the entire Denbe family is kidnapped, Tessa Leoni is hired to privately investigate, and the book’s perspective shifts from hers to Libby Denbe’s as we learn more about the lives — and lies — lived within the walls of the Denbes’ five-million dollar Boston townhome.
Justin Denbe’s financials and those of his multi-million dollar company, Denbe construction, complicate matters for Leoni’s investigation, and of course she has her own baggage to carry through the story. Fans of suspense fiction and thrillers will really enjoy Touch & Go, and even savvy mystery readers will be able to appreciate the many layers Gardner expertly lays within her pages without tangling her main plot line into too many knots.
