Isn't It Bromantic?
by Lyssa Kay Adams
"Its all fun and games until you are lying flat on your back in an emergency room and your wife starts yelling at you in Russian...."
Our favorite boys are back everyone! and it is with a bang. The Russian AKA Vlad AKA Animal Lover AKA hugger and crier AKA The romantic gentle giant AKA The cinnamon role that needs to be protected at all costs is my absolute favorite in the club and I have been dying to read his story ever since the book was announced and wow! I loved it, I devoured it. It is the best one after book 1 for me personally closely followed by Undercover Bromance. Isn't It Bromantic does perfect justice to convenience marriage, friends to lovers and second chance romance like nothing else does.
The book follows Vlad and his mysterious wife Elena who finally comes into light at Liv and Mack's wedding, but the catch? she comes to tell its over between them! I loved how the story is based on how years of miscommunication can land one a massive chaos of their digging. Lysa Kay Adams is chipping away toxic masculinity with one book a time with this series, the books are not only a joy to read but also surprisingly thought provoking though told in a lighter note. What I loved the most in the book is Vlad NOT shying away from his vulnerable nature, he is sensitive and he owns it like a boss, he lays his insecurities out for everyone and cries unapologetically when emotions over take him, contrasting the fierce and nurturing personality of his wife- my friends, I cannot tell you what a fresh breath of air it is to read this angle in a romance book!
There are many moments I laughed out loud, thanks to the amazing narrator of this series who had not disappointed me so far. The Mysterious Cheese man takes the cake for some of the most entertaining parts of the story ;) can we invite him the Book Club please??? ;)
