the heart principle is a masterfully grueling work about autistic burnout, very deep depression, and familial obligations, that happens to have a romantic first act, and while it is very good i probably would not have read it at this specific time in my life if i had known that. it is very different in tone and subject matter than the first two books in this series, and from the author's note at the end it becomes evident why that is the case. reading the middle part ("during") feels like you're being embalmed while still alive. however. helen hoang is a very talented writer working with very difficult subject matter
Graphic: Sexual content, Terminal illness, Medical content, Grief, and Death of parent
