The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson

5.0

You want a Princess story with a strong, tough and no nonsense Princess… here is your book. Lia has some serious backbone. Girl power to the max. She’s smart, tough and caring.
I also have the patience of a “wet cat” just like Lia.

“You don’t just tell a girl like her that she can’t do something”

Let’s talk about the size of this series… Most books I read are 1/2 of the first two and a 1/3 of the last book. I will say I was nervous but by the end of the first book I said to the second “Bring it!!!” These 1,657 pages are full of action, love, loyalty, deception, adventure, loss, gains… every page sucks you in. Listen. Stories told and stories to be written.

If you want a book to relax with… this isn’t it. I was on the edge of my seat and cheering Lia on the whole time. While I didn’t relax, I was able to escape from all the craziness of life and be fully emerged into this world. It was a welcome distraction from my current stress.
