This is my second read through of this beautiful novel and it is still as grand as the first time I read it. The story of Werner and Marie-Laure will forever be one my favorite stories to remember and read through. Giving the perspective of a German child during World War Two is, I would think, a daunting task to undertake. Doerr forces you to feel bad for someone that you never thought you would ever feel an empathic emotion for. But aren’t children victims of war just has much even if they are in the incorrect side of history? He shows the emotions in his majestic writing of a horrific event and I will never get enough of it. This book will forever be one of my favorites of all time, and if you haven’t read it I highly HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone. Even If you don’t like historical fiction, or books about WWII doesn’t matter. Everyone should experience the masterpiece that is All the Light We Cannot See.
