The Perfect Catch by Meghan Quinn
5.0
The grumpy catcher has met his match. Kate is hired on with the Bobbies Baseball team helping with the players image and community involvement. Of course her biggest hurdle is getting the least-liked player into better standings not only with the the organization, but with the fans as well. He's known for getting hot under the collar. Walker doesn't think he needs help, and he certainly doesn't want to be shoved into the spotlight anymore than he is already... but he does find himself wanting to please this new girl. He's a bit misunderstood, but she manages to see beneath the the surface. As the two get to know each other their attraction grows, unfortunately, nothing can come of it as it is against company policy, and they could lose their jobs, which neither want to do of course. Lets just say, they handle things the best ways possible. There's some heartache. There are some laughs, but this particular book doesn't have quite as much humor as the others. Mostly due to the more subdued nature of the story. (There is a tragedy that is mentioned throughout the book.. which happens to be a trigger for the characters and part of the reason for some bad behaviors.) There is lots of steamy content (suitable for mature readers.) There is also a little bit of swoon involved. ;) There is a little bit of a surprise twist. It's a well written story that is easy to read. Hard to put down. It alternates between POVs.
