Terrible, juvenile writing style. At first I thought it was going to be a play on how all the characters are children, but I genuinely think the flaws in this book simply come down to the fact that the author is a misogynist man-child. The prose is giving middle schooler who wrote something edgy for the first time, with enough adjectives to choke out any tension he was attempting to build. The hatred for women is evident throughout the book, but especially in all references to the main villain of the story and the ending. I came to be disgusted by gore, and instead left disgusted with the author’s worldviews. Complete waste of time. I can’t write this as a content warning as it’s not an option, but warning for female genital mutilation.
