The Vampire Knitting Club is a paranormal cozy mystery novel that includes a knitting shop, vampires, witches and of course a kitten familiar. Lucy Swift is in her mid-20s and in need of a new path in life, and she finds one unexpectedly when she learns her grandmother has died and left her her knitting shop. Except grandma isn’t exactly dead, and yet there’s her murder to solve.

I enjoyed this more than I expected for a book literally about a group of knitting vampires. I don’t usually enjoy mysteries, but this book had enough charm and it was quite fast paced that I stayed pretty well entertained. I listened to the audiobook version, and the narration is good and kept me engaged. I don’t think I’ll necessarily pick up the rest of this series (there’s like 15 already?), but I’m happy I read this one all the same. It was light, fluffy and good for low-stakes entertainment.
