So, I’ll admit, I am not the target audience for this book. I stick to sweet little romcoms with mild spice at best, so when TikTok influenced me to pick this one up, no one was more surprised than me. But how could I not with all the humorous clips and Jacob Morgan’s voice?!

I loved it. LOVED it. The humor had me laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe. Josh’s inner monologue has got to be one of the best I’ve read. And him + Fred was the love story I didn’t know I needed. Beyond that, he is a complex character with a deeply troubled past and while I wish we would have touched on his feelings about that more, I think it shone through in his devotion to Aly. I know it’s a dual PoV, but for me, Josh is definitely the main character.

Yeah, the spice was far out of my comfort zone, but I can see why the dark romance girlies would like it. And why would I hold that against the author when I knew going in I probably wouldn’t vibe?

Anyway, the chemistry between Aly and Josh is superb. The love, devotion, and care Josh exhibits is quite literally everything we want in a man, so boys, take notes! (But, like, definitely don’t chase me through the woods with a knife. Lol)

I’m going to be on a book hangover from this one for awhile.
