Henry Huggins by Tracy Dockray, Beverly Cleary

4.0

I loved the Henry Huggins books so much when I read them in 2nd grade to the point that I wouldn't touch the books about his annoying younger neighbor Ramona. So to honor Cleary's 100th birthday I decided to reread the books I have such fond memories of and the first series I binge read. HH was the the first book she wrote and could now probably be considered historical fiction with references to 5ยข pay phone call that is connected by an operator and other monetary and technological differences. I had forgotten how each chapter in many ways was simply a short story the comprised a year in Henry's life. Still a good book about a boy and his dog that is charming today as it was then. Good book!
