liked the tone and subject matter, and even Luthi’s prose, but the plot was slow and I didn't connect well to the characters. I kept asking myself why is this happening? And why don't I care? Just kept wishing he'd get on to the next bit and continuing to be disappointed in the story. 

I would try Luthi again, but this one just fell flat for me.
