The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
3.0
This book was an Overbooked Book Club pick for January. I even have to own I voted for it to be read because of the synopsis and, the fact it is written by a comedian.
This book was a hard one for me. The overall concept is intriguing. But, I found the writing style came up dry. It was hard to keep up with the characters as there were many. Also, being their were so many characters it didn’t leave much room for development of any. I found some of them cute at times, but cute doesn’t always work with a mystery book.
The plot was predictable when I could keep up with the direction and confusing when I would get lost in the mindless chatter of the elderly characters.
Overall the book gets a 3 for the fact that I am sure I struggled with this book due to my dyslexia. But also because to warrant a 2 star rating the author has to have completely ranked or changed plots halfway through. The book is good with a looming but at the end.
Mystery: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Character development: ⭐️⭐️
Fluff: ⭐️⭐️
Plot:⭐️⭐️⭐️
