With Malice
by Eileen Cook
Wowza this book was good!
The whole time I was reading it I was on the edge of my seat. I was questioning everything until the last page, even still kind of am.
Eileen Cook is a wonderful writer. That first chapter just blew me away. I don't think anyone could capture a moment about losing your memories like Eileen did. From that first chapter, I knew who Jill was and what had happened. It was so organically written that I didn't even question the writers voice. I believed her every word.
The story is told from Jill perspective, she's 18 and just went to Italy on a trip of a lifetime with her best friend. What could possibly go wrong? Well waking up in a hospital with 6 weeks worth of memories gone is not what Jill had in mind.
The plot was perfectly played out, the characters all had really unique voices and you wanted to know more and more about Jill and Simone.
The friendship is so real like everyone has times where you second guess if your best friend is really your best friend. It was easy to believe the friendship with how it was written.
I was so invested in the story that I read it all in one sitting.
I felt like Sherlock trying to figure it out. Each word written was a clue and I needed to solve this mystery, no matter how long it took I wasn't going to just let it wait. It was a novel that you can't put down!
Not only is the writing amazing but it is also such a great concept that the main character also has no idea what is going on. We are trying to figure it out together...
It was a quick and easy read that has you thinking until the last sentence.
Well done to Eileen Cook's I applaud your amazing work!
This is a definite read for everyone who loves a bit of mystery.
