It's twelve o' the clock, and alls well.
The first book in the city watch subseries of the Discworld. A true to form, imaginative and entertaining story of dragons, kings, and a suspiciously tall dwarf who has just joined the ranks of the Night Watch as the first ever volunteer.

As usual, Pratchett's descriptions are fun, if slightly unhinged, giving the whole story that unique Discworld feeling which we enjoy so much. The characters are lovable and the action and violence is coloured with just the right amount of slapstick.

Overall, highly recommended for anyone who'd just getting started on their Discworld adventure.
