Spark Joy: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organising: An Illustrated Master Class by Marie Kondo

informative inspiring reflective relaxing medium-paced

4.5

First off, I would only recommend this if you've already read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up - this book builds on the ideas introduced in the first book, which may not be explained clearly if you haven't read it first.
However, this is a genuine comfort book for me. I love Kondo's writing style as it feels so warm and calm.
It's also very informative and delves deeper into the initial ideas of the first book, as well as explaining how she has changed her mind about some things she has said previously or expanded her knowledge of.
The illustrations really add to the book - there aren't as many as I thought there would be, but they're all consistent in theme and help illustrate folding in particular, as well as showing how a space such as a wardrobe can be transformed when tidying up and adding decorations that spark joy.
