A classic John Marrs. Full of twists and drama. I finished this book really quickly as it has the usual short snappy chapters and you are never waiting too long for something to happen.
I liked the individual twists this book slowly revealed for each character and it kept me interested throughout. It was not just drama reserved for a small portion of the book so kept me engaged. And there really were some wow moments.
That being said, the last 15% of the book did feel a bit much for me. It was just one reveal after another and got harder to follow. It felt a bit of a complex explanation for an otherwise snappy read.
I like this speculative fiction genre and it really makes you think that our world is not that far away from this, and these events are not a million miles away from us.
