White Nights by Fyodor Dostoevsky
5.0

"May your sky always be clear, may your dear smile be bright and happy, and may you forever be blessed for that moment of bliss and happiness which you gave to another lonely, grateful heart... Isn't such a moment sufficient for the whole of one's life?"

Unadulterated limerence and unrequited love. Real love. Dostoevsky's "White Nights" is a deeply emotional and touching short story of a young man's struggle to reconcile his existence and estrangement from society - loneliness, with romance.

There are feelings this elicited in me which transcend the time and location of its publication. It might speak to a universal experience for human beings seeking love and is a beautiful work. I would highly recommend to all!
