Who Do You Think You Are? by Alice Munro

4.0

One of my favourite short story collections. So many of the scenes and emotions described were familiar to me, I think simply because they were evoked so well. The book is a collection of stories about Rose, beginning with her school years in the impoverished town of Hanratty. We follow her from school to university, to marriage and divorce, through affairs and the loss of her stepmother. She travels far but is never disconnected from her hometown, which shapes her attitudes to life and love in ways she cannot get a grip on.
