2019 is the year I finish books on my “on-hold” shelf.

I started this audiobook about 6 months ago but my library hold ran out before I could finish it. Despite the pause, the imagery still felt fresh in my mind - always the sign of a great author. I will admit I had forgotten chunks of the story itself so that made it tough to jump back in. I suspect that’s due in large part to the audiobook format where I do occasionally tune out so it’s much harder to come back to something after a long pause. This is a story that jumps around with timelines quite a lot and I find those the toughest for audiobooks so while I do recommend this book, I don’t recommend it as an audiobook.
