Least favorite of the series so far, though I still love the larger world and all the political schemes. I just didn't vibe with Ahnna and found her a bit annoying. The romance also felt a little less developed compared to the two other couples, more like a coupling out of convenience than an actual connection.
Plus the story felt incomplete, moreso than the others have. Or maybe it was just a good cliffhanger and I want to know what happens next.

Graphic: Bullying, Death, Racism, Sexual content, Violence, Xenophobia, Grief, Religious bigotry, Murder, War
Moderate: Alcoholism, Body shaming, Cursing, Infidelity, Misogyny, Racism, Sexism, Suicidal thoughts, Blood, Gaslighting, Alcohol, Injury/Injury detail, Classism
Minor: Animal death, Child death, Self harm
Racism, classism, xenophobia, and religious bigotry within the confines of the world, though there are themes of "burn the witch" and "good, god-fearing people who were born here vs. all others"
Pretty significant scenes of bullying and humiliation that almost made me feel bad for Lestara
