The Greatest Enemy of Rain: Stories by Manu Bhattathiri

4.0

The greatest enemy of rain is an anthology consisting of 14 short stories about the dull life of human beings.

Our protagonist Gopi, describes everything about why he hates rain and how it destroys the lives of everyone. The book mainly talks about the heavy rains of Kerala. Surprisingly, all his reasons justified his hatred toward the rain.

All of the stories are different with no particular theme, but they all were connected to mother earth. The Woman Who Loved To Be Right was one of my favourites from this collection. I connected to it the most. I enjoyed almost all of the stories except 3-4 of them, they sounded average. the stories were funny and emotional. I laughed and cried while reading them.

The writing style is different, something unique from what I actually read. This was my first book by the author, looking forward to reading more by him. I recommend reading this book if you are looking for a wholesome and meaningful read.
