I absolutely DEVOURED this series. after I got like 25% through book 1 I was hooked. I was sad that book 3 changed narrators and that did take me out of the story a little (it’s wild going from a true west african accent to a british person faking one) but the actual story still deserved 5⭐️.
I STILL don’t buy the love story between Zelie and Inan. I actually don’t care how hot you are, if your family has been hunting my people since before I was born you can fully choke. With that being said 🤭🤭 I did miss Roën in this book and was sad that he never made a reappearance. Would have liked to see the relationship between Amari and Mai’e (I listens to the audiobook okay idk how these names are spelled) rather than just having it hinted at.
I think the book wrapped up nicely BUT I wouldn’t mind a 4th book if the author were ever to write one. I feel like she created such a rich world and magic system I just want to see how magis navigate it.
