I liked this. This had a minor similarity to Pretty When You Cry by Skye Warren, in the sense that it’s a lot more dark, complex and emotionally gripping.

Kate. I loved Kate’s character. 25 year old young, shy ADHD bound girl in a male dominated workspace ? She handled it well, and like a badass. I relate to her coping mechanisms a lot, I loved the sense of familiarity. It was refreshing and really great to have the ADHD rep in the book. The struggles Kate faced was real and raw, it resonates and i believe that matters. I loved her determination to pull through things (things are especially hard with ADHD) I loved her strength that carried her through her hardships as she grew up, and her hardships in her work too. Kate is admirable, beautiful and strong.

I especially loved that (although very much later in the story) she had a group of friends that were there for her, cared for her and were just generally, her girl gang. (you best believe I loved chapter 19) I loved the friendship and bond that Kate had with the other girls, they encouraged her to own her personality and move forward, she had them in her corner.

Tyler. Tyler was a great character. Morally grey and very complex as well as gritty. It was nice to watch him develop as the story went on. This is where I explain the darker part of the book; most DaddyKink books involves Doms being openly affectionate as well as very much cuddly, touchy feely and Gentle with subs as aftercare. These books had the caring, loving and gentle side of DD/LG in general. In act your age, it wasn’t the same. It involved darker bits where a Dom couldn’t admit his feelings that’ve manifested towards his sub, he avoids cuddling and aftercare ; afraid he might fall deeper. It may seem simple , but some of the other things portrayed showed the battle Tyler fought with himself and his feelings for Kate. It was by no means gentle or wholesome. But it worked, for the book.

Overall, I really enjoyed this. Heart gripping, sexy and fun read !
