I think this is pretty solid. If you’re like me, you’ll be curious why Fred is called the title of the short story and why he turned from Earth. It underscores belter values versus Earthers, and it’s quite a quick read.

If you’re looking for a continuation of the first novel though, as the numbering kind of suggests, you won’t find it here. Some of the short stories contribute to the larger plot, some feel more necessary than others. The only one I remember loving years later is Amos’ The Churn.
