Six Scorched Roses

The novella in the first duology of the Nyaxia series. I feel it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t amazing either. It lacked emotional depth that I was looking for and it introduced new characters that must play a role in the next book, so I do look forward to seeing how they are interwoven into the story that I am enjoying so far.
I didn’t have much connection with either character but I do feel there is potential for their relationship and how it can develop as the story continues in the Ashes and the Star-Cursed King.
The story itself wasn’t especially interesting to me, and although it was short, it still dragged for me.

Overall, it was okay but I don’t feel this is entirely necessary to read in the lead up to the 2nd book in the series.
