Bryce Quinlan has a perfect life, working hard during the day and partying hard at night. Until a demon murders her closest friends - leaving her heartbroken and wounded. Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation, as she’ll do whatever she needs to avenge their deaths. Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he attempted to overthrow. He’s been tasked to assassinate his boss’ enemies, no questions asked. With the demon terrorizing the city, the same demon who killed Bryce’s friends, Hunt and Bryce must work together to find the murderer.

Alright, guilty pleasure time! SJM comes with her own faults and has been problematic in the past but Crescent City has gotten a bit better in regards to that. Although nothing happens in this book for 500 pages it was a nice escape from COVID. Just being in the world was great to disassociate from symptoms and exhaustion and loneliness.

As far as the book goes, it was alright. Bryce was a great female lead as SJM is known to write. I liked the investigative feel of the book, bit of a crime angle, and enjoyed the character building. Aelin and Manon will always be my fave but Bryce was solid. I enjoyed it overall, it was entertaining, ACOMAF had more sex times if that’s what you’re wondering, 4✨.
