Despereaux = Tale of Despereaux
by Kate DiCamillo
Interesting characters and fun quick read.
Bryant and I are reading this one together and we're almost finished.
He loved this book, and we had fun reading it together. I really liked the last part in which the author writes:
"Do you remember when Despereaus was in the dungeon, cupped in Gregory the jailer's hand, whispering a story in the old man's ear? ...
"Stories are light," Gregory the jailer told Despereaux.
Reader, I hope you have found some light here."
After rereading it with him I decided to up it one star since he enjoyed it so much. I look forward to seeing how the film compares to the book.
