Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil
by Hannah Arendt
This was hard to read. Both literally and mentally. It's clear that Arendt is always the smartest person in the room, and she's difficult to keep up with. However, even as someone not particularly gifted in critical reading, I was still able to recognize her nuance and sarcasm -- which many of her critics do not. Just because she says evil is "normal" doesn't mean she says it's acceptable.
