I am a bit uncomfortable to say that I enjoyed this book mostly due to some of the scenes/themes, however, I really did. (If you have any triggers please research before reading this book) This is an easy read that I consumed in a day, with a main character that I really like because he learns to have compassion for the slaves within this society, or at least is knocked down a peg to their perspective. My opinion may be biased though because I will get through the most mediocre of books if it means that I can get a satisfying romance, so I can't wait to see what happens next in this trilogy.
