Asher and Izzy's story is one of heartache, longing but a whole lot of hope.

Asher is Izzy's ex-fiance's older brother, but he's always been more than that to her. They shared a deep connection over music, with Izzy spending more time with Asher when they stayed at his grandmother's lakehouse than with her fiance, Jessie. However, when Izzy and Jessie break up, she loses touch with the whole family.

After running into Asher nearly a decade later in Vegas, they have a one-night stand (this is where I would definitely recommend reading Mind Games first, it explains the circumstances that lead to their night and more of their background together). Asher is on his way to being a big household name in the music industry, but to Izzy he's still her Asher. They part ways once more, thinking that too many people would be hurt if they gave into their feelings.

A year later, Jessie approaches Izzy and asks for her to help Asher write some new songs for his album, not knowing about their shared history. This is where the past meets the present and Asher and Izzy have to work out if they should put their feelings ahead of others they care about or let each other go for good.

I really enjoyed Dangerous Games. It did take me a while to read and I did get slightly frustrated with the will-they-won't-they scenario but in the end it was perfect for them.

I also loved the secondary plot line, which I won't give away, but it really kept me hooked on the story, wanting to solve the case as much as Izzy! The twist at the end I didn't see coming at all!

All in all, this is a great second chance romance read, and although there is that 'taboo' of the ex's older brother, you know that Izzy was always meant to be with Asher, not Jessie and everything worked out in the end because true love will always come back like a boomerang!
