Like a bunch of short stories. Nothing ever tied together in the end, really. Was hoping for a lot more. Also, if I'd known more history I'm assuming there were a lot of obscure parallels that I missed. Also was difficult sometimes knowing which contemporary regions were being referenced, as it's never really explained where some are, like Aozhou (I might be misspelling).
