I really liked this. I loved the way the book uses Ryo’s interest in fashion and the way clothes make him feel as if he’s expressing his authentic self as a way to explore his struggles with his gender identity. I found the secondary characters well-rounded as well. Each is struggling with societal pressures to confirm, but experiencing those struggles in different ways. I found this a great unifying thread, and I love the undercurrent of compassion toward those who feel trapped by the expectation that they should be something they’re not. Really looking forward to the next installment.
