Carrie Clarke has written an amazing series and this, the final book, compliments it so well.
Ethan has been grieving the loss of his wife Jess. Carrie Clarke wonderfully balanced Ethan's grief and guilt with his growing attraction and love for Sadie. It gave respect to both the women he has loved and made for a well paced and honest story.
I loved Sadie's character. All her fears and personal trauma, her dreams and motivation make for a beautifully rounded heroine.
Together their chemistry and care for each other is a gorgeous story of love and healing.
Sadie's enthusiasm and love of Egypt pours out through Carrie Clarke's words and is palpable. I felt completely immersed in the story.
"Professor-student is not a k!nk I can get behind. So to speak"
Ethan and I were on the same wave length to begin with but we both changes our minds. Professor/student is not a trope I read but I trusted in Carrie Clarke and fell in love with this book. For anyone wondering, Ethan is a mid-30's professor and Sadie is a mid-20's PhD student who meet before they realise they are going to have a Professor/Student relationship.
I have loved this series and I am sad to say goodbye to the Carter family and all their loving chaos.
