The Dark Side of the Room
by Tyler Jones
There were so many things about this that I loved. I’ll start with first, and most shallow: the Portland setting. It’s always fun to read about things close to home and recognize landmarks throughout the story. Second, there was so much about Betsy that resonated with me, maybe I too am a sad cat lady at heart. I found myself tearing up so much with her scenes, Jones did an incredible job bringing so much emotion to this character, her loneliness was palpable. Third, I am now scared of rats.
