This was my least favorite of the series this far. As a big sister myself I sided with Sloan and questioned Riley’s decision and lack of communication.
It was well written and I think the tone was younger/youthful and perhaps I couldn’t relate to much to it. I enjoyed the book and thought the vividness of the travels to Russia were captivating. The writing was my favorite part, I didn’t particularly like either of the characters. And definitely didn’t see what Riley saw. The spicy scenes didn’t stand out to me much except for the first one - WOW, imagine!! I also thought Mal’s internal struggle, talks in Russian & care towards Riley were some of my highlights.
ALSO her being mad at Sloan for a stupid made up reason that she never talked to her about made me angry! I felt like Riley’s character had some series flaws that were glanced over. You’re gone for 3 months and justify not telling your sister you’re alive because of a false story between Sloan and your ex??? Yeah big sis in me couldn’t rock with that
This just couldn’t stand up to its predecessor for me. I wouldn’t read it again but I would certainly recommend the entire series. I had no idea what I was getting myself into but I’m
H O O K E D.
