This Love Story Will Self-Destruct by Leslie Cohen

Wow. I picked this up off of a website claiming I would like it if I liked Taylor Swift’s two latest albums. But I gotta be honest, I didn’t think I would like it. And I didn’t. I loved it beyond measure, loved it more than I could ever describe.
I have to explain: I don’t typically like contemporary romance except in weirdly specific circumstances. But this book man.
So incredibly real. I could not put it down, yet reading it was so calming. It was beautiful and relatable and just so damn real I can’t believe it. Wonderful, poetic, beautiful. And yet it made me laugh. It talked about hard topics, too. In a good way. It was exactly what I needed exactly when I needed it. It was synchronicity.
I’ll leave you with what I think is my favourite quote from it, though it was very hard to choose. Possible spoilers, so I’d you haven’t read it yet maybe avoid the quote.

“And I can’t say that sock quality was ever something I was looking for in a girl, but here it is, and that’s how I feel, and there’s not a damn thing I can do about it.”
