Sometimes I Trip On How Happy We Could Be by Nichole Perkins

5.0

I loved this book for its honesty about the journey of black women with life and sexuality. I listened to Nicole tell me about her life and self-discovery via a series of short stories.

I felt empowered by her story and the journey she went on. Nicole took me through her childhood and the connection she made with and about men and family

Her sexuality and the tug and pull between being sexual and the stigma that is placed on black women and being sexually charged

I enjoyed all the insight and openness of her journey. I would recommend this book to anyone whose being told life is a straight line and they are walking a zigzag path

Life is what you make it and what works for you - there is no right and wrong way to be who you are.
